There are some important tips to keep in mind when you are preparing for your autumn wedding.

Make your fall wedding spectacular with these tips

Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year to get married. The weather isn’t as hot or humid as it is in the summer and the days are often bright and sunny. Planning a fall wedding can be a fun experience. There are some important tips to keep in mind when you are preparing for your autumn wedding.

• Be aware of weather changes – The weather in autumn can change quickly. Be ready for rainy or windy conditions that can happen at anytime.

• Bring wedding umbrellas just in case of rain. Purchase some inexpensive white umbrellas to have on hand for you and your wedding party should the need arise.

• Choose fall colours for your wedding. These include oranges, yellows, and browns. Together, these colours help to create a very beautiful autumn setting.

• Use natural décor for your reception. Scatter fall leaves on the tables to provide a pretty backdrop for your celebration. (Purchase silk or paper leaves as an alternative to real ones).

• Fall evenings are typically quite cool. Choose white or coordinating wraps or sweaters for you and the bridesmaids.

• It gets darker earlier in the fall. Keep this in mind as you plan your wedding itinerary. Make sure that you take photos early enough in the day to create the proper lighting.

• Opt for long sleeve dresses for both the bride and the bridesmaids. If you prefer, consider a sleeveless option with a matching removable wrap.

• Think about fall flowers for your bridal bouquet and for the bridesmaid’s bouquets. Flowers that are in season are less expensive and provide a nice fall feeling to the wedding.

• Think about an early afternoon wedding ceremony rather than a later one. This will give you plenty of daylight time to enjoy the wedding before it starts to get dark.

• Create a cozy fall atmosphere with lighted fireplaces at your reception venue. If there are no fireplaces, consider using candles on all the tables.

• Consider ecru or off-white colours instead of white. White can look took stark in contrast with strong fall colours of yellow, orange, and brown. For example, choose off-white table linens to make the tables look more like autumn.

• If your reception venue has some outdoor space utilize it by adding some lighted fire pits. This makes a nice outdoor setting that looks and smells like fall.

• Serve a signature fall drink to your guests – concoct a warm glug or tea that can be served to everyone either before or after dinner.
